12/10- Pat Devlin Leaving Penn State
12/10- Pat Devlin Leaving Penn State - Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 11:13PM EST
Penn State quarterback Pat Devlin is planning on transferring to another school and will not participate with the team in the Rose Bowl against Southern California.
The school released a statement saying Devlin informed coach Joe Paterno of his intention to transfer.
The highly-touted Devlin was the fifth-highest ranked quarterback coming out of high school in 2006, according to Rivals. com.
Devlin, who competed for the Nittany Lions' starting quarterback job prior to the 2008 season, lost the battle to redshirt junior Daryll Clark, who started every game this year.
While seeing action in 10 contests this season, Devlin was 25-of-47 with four touchdowns and no interceptions. | |
