SUSQUEHANNA, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY- The death of a 12-year-old Susquehanna County girl is under investigation Monday night. Authorities believe she drowned along Drinker Creek in the borough. Investigators report it's believed the unidentified victim lost her footing on a rock while trying to cross the creek.

The 12-year-old was pronounced dead at Barnes-Kasson Hospital after failed attempts to resuscitate her, according to a news release from State Police in Gibson.

The coroner's office will perform an autopsy Tuesday afternoon to determine an exact cause of death.
