TOWANDA, BRADFORD COUNTY- Opening statements were given in Bradford County Tuesday morning in a triple murder trial.

32-year-old Steven Colegrove is on trial for the murders of his father, mother and brother. The three were found shot to death in August 2007 in their Tuscarora Township home.

Tuesday Bradford County District Attorney Daniel Barrett told the jury Colegrove's DNA was found on the murder weapon. 16 witnesses testified for the prosecution who says Colegrove's motive was money.

Colegrove's lawyers indicated his brother, Robert, may have committed the crime. The prosecution is seeking a first degree murder conviction and the death penalty.
