2 Boys on Bikes Hit By Minivan; One Killed - Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 08:15AM EST

Two boys were hit by a minivan while riding their bikes in Schuylkill County .

One was killed and the other is in the hospital.

This accident happened around 9 p. m. Monday night along Route 54 just outside of Shenandoah.

Police say the boys were between 12 and 14 years old.

West Mahanoy Township Police Officer Ron Price said the driver may never even seen them coming.

"I'm assuming because of the road being dark and she was coming up the crest of a hill. So if the boys were coming up the other end of the hill she would never be able to see them"

Both boys were flown to hospital.

One was pronounced dead overnight.

No word on the other's condition.

Police wouldn't say whether charges will be filed against the driver.
