20 Canine Skeletons Found on Sullivan Co. Farm
20 Canine Skeletons Found on Sullivan Co. Farm - Monday, May 25, 2009 at 11:00PM EST
CHERRY TWP., SULLIVAN COUNTY- There's 20 canine skeletons on Willliam Hunsinger’s Cherry Township farm. He has no idea how they got here.
"Who would do something like this? I mean that's stupid," says Hunsinger.
Hunsinger is furious. He thinks these are dog remains. Some of the bones are small, some are big. Hunsinger’s friend found them Monday morning. "She cried when she seen this, when she found this," says Hunsinger.
State police say the bones will be lab tested. There's different type of animals in the canine family, like coyotes and foxes. The bones will be tested by the SPCA and state Department of Agriculture.
Troopers say it appears the bones have been here about one year. State police say the bones have been on Hunsinger’s land so long there's no way to tell when or how these animals died. "I can't see how a person could do something like this and respect themselves," says Hunsinger.
He's not sure if there's more piles of bones on his 70-acre farm. It's something state police will investigate further.
