3 Arrests Made in G.A.R. Vandalism Spree - Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 5:20PM EST

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Wilkes-Barre Police have made three arrests in an arson and vandalism spree at G. A.R. High School.
Three teenagers admitted to police they broke into the school over the weekend. 18-year-old Jonathan Benjamin, a former G. A.R student, and two other boys, ages 16 and 14, say they broke into G. A.R High School early Sunday morning.

Police say they smashed trophy cases and set several banners on fire. Superintendent Jeff Namey says it was all caught on tape. "We actually tracked them down. Our schools high schools have complete video systems throughout the buildings. Upon reviewing the tape we were able to identify the students, brought them in, read them their rights of course brought parents in they admitted to what they did,” he said.

The two younger teens have been suspended and may be expelled from school.
