DANVILLE, MONTOUR COUNTY- With Spring finally here and Easter right around the corner, this is one of the “sweetest” stories you’ll find. It’s an act of kindness that put smiles on plenty of faces today at Geisinger Medical Center.

We’re talking about one enormous Easter egg. 12 lbs of peanut butter, 8 lbs of sugar, 5 lbs of chocolate, 3 lbs of butter, and 2 lbs of decorations. Those are the ingredients that made up the sweet treat. Jason Bogart created the 31 pound, chocolate and peanut butter egg. He owns the "Cookies, Cakes, and More" bakery in Berwick, and says he just wanted to spread a little Easter cheer.

"What also went into it was about three days of hard work, some tears, some sweat, and a lot of love, and lot of wanting Spring and Easter to be a happy event," Bogart said. So he made the massive egg and decided to donate it to a worthy cause.

Patients, friends, family members and staff from several departments at Geisinger Medical Center were the lucky recipients of the generous act. Kerri Potsko is the Director of Operations for Cancer Services at Geisinger. "A lot of patients are coming here today for chemotherapy, some very long treatments, and it's a rough day. So any way that we can make things brighter for them, we feel very blessed that we're able to do that, and that Jay was willing to do that for us," she said.

Helen Dusendschine was at the hospital visiting her friend, a cancer patient. "It was really a surprise. And the egg was absolutely scrumdeliumpscious! It was very good and the man that made it, I give him a lot of compliment to take the time to do something nice for the people in the area," Dusendschine added.

Bogart says this is the biggest chocolate peanut butter egg he's ever made or seen, for that matter. And he does it for the simple satisfaction of seeing a smile on people's faces. He explained, "What I wanted that Easter egg to show is that there's an opportunity to make everybody very happy and very excited about the coming Spring and symbolize that it doesn't take a lot, to make a lot of people happy."

Bogart says he hopes to make a 50 lb. egg next year.
