FRACKVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY Ð An Eyewitness News crew was on I-81 minutes before the governor closed the roadway.

Once you see this video you'll probably see why that was the safest decision. Even PennDOT plows couldnÕt make it through this mess.

This plow crashed right before the Frackville exit. A PennDOT bulldozer with chains hooked up couldnÕt even pull this plow back on track.

In addition to PennDOT trucks dozens of other cars and trucks got stuck on I-81 and other roads like Route 61 in Schuylkill County.

That led to the county declaring a State of Emergency during the afternoon.

Take a look at how slow going the traffic was in Schuylkill County. You could barely see ten feet in front of you but we made it to Frackville.

Nearly the whole town was shut down because of nearly a foot of snow which fell in just a few hours around midday Wednesday. Cars were spinning out and getting stuck.

Ryan Nolter of Frackville said, ÒStay home if you can. Go out for an emergency only. Stay off the roads."

And Robert Gruber said, ÒPersonally I love it. It gets you out of the house when no one else will come out. But even some four wheel drives are getting stuck. Some people are out in cars and that's crazy."
