SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- There are a lot of questions but few answers after a raid Monday in Lackawanna County.
Agents from the state Attorney General's Office came and went from the offices of Murray Insurance in downtown Scranton Monday.
Officials would only say they were serving a search warrant on the building, which is located at 415 Spruce Street.
The first agents went in at the start of business, but our cameras were there as more agents arrived just after noon and even more around 3:00 P. M. ItŐs unclear exactly what the agents are looking for.
The owner of the company, Brian Murray, is no stranger to headlines. In August Murray was banned from the insurance industry and was told he was going to have to sell the agency he founded in 1981.
ItŐs all because the state's Insurance Department said Murray let an employee sell insurance even though she didn't have a license.
Brian Murray is well-known throughout all of Lackawanna County. He's helped to renovate downtown buildings and helped finance many political campaigns.
Because of the incident in August, Brian Murray was also fined $120,000.
Everyone involved in the raid has been tight lipped. Several people who tried to go into the Murray Insurance building were turned away and told to come back. | |
