There are currently hundreds of children up for adoption in Pennsylvania. And many of them are with foster families. Destinee, a 13-year-old, wants to be part of a loving family.

Like any teenage girl, Destinee was excited to get into Star Tresses in Forty Fort for her first-ever pedicure and manicure.

The 13-year-old is in foster care in Monroe County, but she's looking for a forever family. "Someone I can depend on, and I'd be safe," she says.

She wants to learn how to play the guitar and loves to sing. "Just hip hop. Some country like Taylor Swift, and I like Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce," she says.

Destinee is quiet at first, but her caseworker will tell you she turns into a chatterbox. "She's a girlie girl, loves her hair and nails done, really into singing. She's a good kid. She's got a good heart, is real sweet, and is fun to be around," says Lyndsey Cumello.

The girlie girl has her tomboy side that would probably chip these nails. "Volleyball and soccer because it's really fun and it's in the summer," she says.

Destinee's brother was recently adopted, and she plans to stay in touch, once she finds her own family. "I think the best home would be with other kids, maybe they're a little older, so she can be the younger sibling, you know, the doted on younger kid," says Cumello.

Destinee likes to try new things like horse-back-riding. She was thrown off one horse "But I kept on trying. I didn't give up," she recalls.

And Destinee's not giving up on her own destiny -- finding a family. "I'm a kind, nice person. I like to help a lot with chores, clean the house. And I like pets, she says.
