SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - From king crab to cod fish to shrimp and everything in between.
It's a seafood lover's paradise outside Schiff's Wholesale Food Outlet in Scranton.
This stand is stocked with just about everything you'd want to put on your New Year's Eve seafood menu.
Pat Kennedy of Scranton and his girlfriend, Danielle Namiotka, were busy Thursday morning picking up tuna steak, shrimp and lobster tail for a party at their Green Ridge home. They say seafood for New Year's Eve is all about tradition.

"It's kind of a tradition to have seafood during the holiday season," said Kennedy.
Namiotka fondly recalls her mother making seafood for New Year's Eve.
"She made lobster all the time and so it's a big tradition with seafood."

For many, it just wouldn't be New Year's Eve without seafood and some spared no expense to celebrate.
Larissa Laing of Greentown looked to load up for her New Year's Eve house party in Pike County -- easily spending more than $100.
"We've got some crab, shrimp, clams. We're ready," said Laing.

Others insist seafood to celebrate the new year brings good fortune.
That's why Anthony Pamelia of Scranton shopped for salmon.
"With the salmon it's for good luck because salmon swims upstream," said Pamelia.
