Abduction Attempt Arrest

Abduction Attempt Arrest - Friday, March 13, 2009 at 7:16PM EST

Swoyersville - The man, who earlier this week told Eyewitness News he witnessed evidence being dumped down a sewer drain, is arrested by police.
Keith Coote was picked up this afternoon.
He was charged with the attempted abduction of a school student in Edwardsville.
Arrest papers allege shortly after the attack, a witness saw Coote dumping that jacket in the sewer hours before he ever called 911.

Initially, investigators were steered in the wrong direction.
Court documents suggest the alleged victim lied to throw off police.
Detectives say the girl later told them she lied because she was threatened by Coote.
Coote is being held 300-thousand cash.
He always has a prior record for robbery and gun charges.
He's been in jail before.
