POCONO PINES - A teenager accused in a deadly hit and crash was in court today. Myles Davis kept quiet as he headed into a court hearing Thursday. But the family and friends of the man who he's accused of killing had a lot to say.
"He has no heart, none at all," said the victim's fiance Debbie Hayden.
Police say Davis ran over Robert Monaco in July. It started when Monaco hit a deer while riding his motorcycle on Route 115 in Tunkhannock Township.
Monaco survived the crash. Witnesses say they were trying to help him off the road when Davis sped through the crash site.
Witness Maureen Jendrzewski cried, "I spun around because I couldn't watch it and heard it - and he ran over him like he was a sack of garbage."
Almost two months later, Davis turned himself in to police. He us now out on $100,000 unsecured bail. Monaco's family said it is not fair that he gets to walk free while they remain prisoners of their grief.
"Now I have nothing, just pictures," said Hayden. She was engaged to marry Monaco in April. The pair were high school sweethearts recently reunited after 22 years apart.
"That day we weren't even together ten minutes when he was on his hands and knees asking me to marry him," she recalled.
Hayden said yes and prepared to finally find her "happily ever after" starting with a honeymoon in Hawaii. She said, "Now I'll never go to Hawaii because he'd be the only person I ever would have went with."
Now instead of a storybook ending she simply hopes for justice.
Davis waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday. His court date has not yet been set.
