STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY - Police brought an accused murderer back to the Poconos Friday. A judge arraigned Anthony Mitchell Friday afternoon.
Officers say Mitchell shot Casheem Gaines outside an illegal after hours dance club in September.
"The defendant was at a location in East Stroudsburg. There was a gunshot. Casheem Gaines died as a result of this gunshot and the Commonwealth believes it will be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this defendant did that," said Assistant District Attorney Barney Anderson.
Mitchell fled to New York City after the shooting. Police eventually found him there and he did not fight extradition. He's now jailed without bail in Monroe County.
