THROOP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Mid Valley District leaders accepted the resignation of Jennifer O'Rourke Thursday night. Police identified O'Rourke as the driver of a school van who failed field sobriety tests on Tuesday after a student reported the van was "all over the place" on Lackawanna County roadways. The 10 minute "drive from hell" for Tamara Shotto ended in a minor accident. Shotto walked away uninjured, but shaken up.

District leaders promised random substance testing for employees who get behind the wheel to transport students. They also pledged student safety was a primary concern and follow-up procedures would be introduced.

O'Rourke could face criminal charges.
