Williamsport, Lycoming County-

An Amber Alert has been issued for a child reportedly taken by his father Thursday morning in Lycoming County. Police believe the man may be armed and dangerous.

An all-day search continued into the evening hours for 27-year-old Johnnie Alexander Drummond, a pre-release inmate from Berks County.

Police believe Drummond fled Williamsport with his son, 18-month-old A'dryn Allen Drummond, following an argument with his ex-girlfriend.

Williamsport Police Agent Stephen Sorage explained, "She tried to get out of the vehicle and take the keys. He took the keys from her. And before she could get her son, A’dryn, out of the vehicle, he (Drummond) fled."

Authorities issued the statewide Amber Alert Thursday morning.

According to police, Johnnie Drummond is a black male, 5'8" tall, 180 lbs, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

The child, A'dryn Drummond, is an 18-month-old black male, 30 inches tall, 29 lbs, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

Police believe the boy's father is armed and dangerous, possibly suicidal.

Sorage noted, "Our primary focus at this point is trying to find the child, and for the safe return of the child."

Signs along local highways urge motorists to contact police if they see Drummond's vehicle- described as a black Mercury Mariner sedan bearing the license plate FPM-3019.

Sorage added, "They should immediately notify 9-1-1 as to the location and direction of the vehicle and anyone in the vehicle. They should not take action themselves. Mr. Drummond is, again, possibly dangerous."
