PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The largest holiday food drive in Northeastern Pennsylvania continued Saturday.

The Commission on Economic Opportunity is in its 30th year of their Thanksgiving project. Eyewitness News stopped by CEO's distribution warehouse Saturday afternoon in Plains Township.

People picked-up their turkey and all the staple fixings. Several hundred volunteers were on-hand to help. CEO Executive Director Gene Brady said, "It's wonderful to see how thankful people are who are getting this assistance who really need it so all around I think it's a humbling thing to watch this and something we feel really brings the community together."

Brady says nearly 2,000 people came out to pick-up their food Saturday.
