SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY - Law enforcement officials say this man Roberto Chris Silva ran a multi-county drug ring. The attorney general alleges Silva and William DeJesus distributed cocaine worth 1.7 million dollars. The two men are charged with seventeen others with dealing the drug. Police have arrested thirteen suspects so far.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett announced the arrests in Sunbury and said, "According to the Grand Jury, William Wilson DeJesus and Roberto Chris Silva, both of Allentown, allegedly supplied powder and crack cocaine to distributors in various parts of central Pennsylvania."
After an 18 month investigation, agents rounded up suspects in the early morning hours. They were then arraigned in district court in Sunbury. Investigators say the drug ring operated in Northumberland, Snyder, Montour and Columbia Counties.
Corbett said, "On August the 29th, 2006, one of the CI's and an undercover agent made a controlled purchase of $200 worth of cocaine at the Quality Inn in Danville. Another controlled purchase was made on April 12th, 2007 at Bastian Tires in Bloomsburg."
The arrests come less than a week after another drug bust in Sunbury. Sunbury Police Chief Tim Bremigen said, "With what we had done on Thursday with the investigations and everything that was wrapped up today, I think that really puts a dent in the drug trade in Sunbury."
Investigators are continuing their search to locate the remaining three suspects.
