SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The 48th annual Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Parade was another huge success for the Electric City on Saturday. The Scranton tradition is one of the 5 largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the country.
More than 10,000 people marched in the parade with an estimated 100,000 coming to town to celebrate over the weekend. That means big bucks for many area businesses.

The day began with a special mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral and then a 2-mile race along the parade route.

The parade itself kicked off at noon and was aired live by both WBRE and WYOU.
