WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Investigators are looking for the cause of another vacant house fire in Wilkes-Barre. A home at 101 Prospect Street went up in flames Sunday just after 12-noon.

Firefighters say the house was engulfed in flames when they arrived and is now a total loss. The people who used to live there left two months ago and first responders say there were no utilities hooked up when the flames broke out.

Crews were able to save a neighboring home from heavy damage as flames destroyed the third floor of the vacant home. Neighbor Eric Commiso said, "I was out shoveling the snow and I could smell the burning sense of rubber. As I looked up, you could see flames and smoke coming from the third floor middle window."

Building Co-Owner Lucille Peacock said, "This is all my money. This is every dime I had. My father helped me finance it. This is all we had. This was it."

The house was in the process of being renovated at the time of the fire. Investigators will not say if they believe the Wilkes-Barre fire is suspicious.
