WILKES-BARRE - Hundreds of people showed their support for a cause Saturday in Luzerne County. The NAACP and the Diversity Institute held their annual diversity picnic at Kirby Park.

People came out for the Barbecue and to listen to some music.

Organizers say they originally came up with the event to help people of different, races, religions and backgrounds learn from each other.

Ronald Felton said, "It came about as the result of racial summits that we held when I first became President and out of one of those summits we decided that there shoudl be something to celebrate our differences and at the same time we learn that we have a lot of things in common."

This was the tenth year for that Diversity Picnic in Kirby Park.
