SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

Police SWAT Teams in Northeastern Pennsylvania will soon have a new tool to help them in emergency situations.

Federal Anti-Terrorism funds will be used to buy an armored vehicle called the "BearCat" which will be housed in Lackawanna County's new Emergecy Services Building and will be made available to any SWAT unit in theNortheast region of the state.

The truck is manufactured by Lenco Armored Vehicles of Pittsfiled, MA. It cost $225,000. It is expected to be in service later this year.
