Williamsport, Lycoming County-

Nearly a dozen radio stations are coming together for an emergency fund raising effort in central Pennsylvania.

The radio-thon started at 6AM and will conclude at 5PM at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport.

It’s all in an effort to raise money for the Lycoming County United Way.

The United Way’s annual campaign was scheduled to end November 31st, but fell woefully short of its monetary goals.

Backyard Broadcasting Operations Manager Ted Minier noted, “Whether there’s a flood, there’s a fire, it helps to benefit our kids in some of the programs after school, preteens, and senior citizens. Everyone benefits in some indirect way, or directly, from the Lycoming County United Way.”

The Lycoming County United Way supports more than 40 human service agencies locally. We’re told 97% of all the money raised will stay in Lycoming County.
