WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY - A man surrendered to Wilkes-Barre police Tuesday morning and ended a 2-and-a-half hour standoff.
It all started around 7 a. m. at Teberio's Pizza And Pub at East Thomas and St. Clair Streets in the city's Miners Mills section.
A man with a handgun barricaded himself in the building.
Police were called and surrounded the business, shut down surrounding streets and told neighbors to stay in their homes.
An FBI negotiator talked the unidentified man into putting down his gun and surrendering without incident.
The man was taken away for mental health evaluation.
Police are deciding if they will file any charges. | |
