STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - A superhero was on trial today in the Poconos.
Batman tried to defend himself in Monroe County Court.
Catwoman and the Riddler accused him of breaking into their secret hideout.
There were lots of theatrics in the courtroom.
A jury made up of elementary school students eventually found the Caped Crusader not guilty.
It sounds silly because it's all part of "Law Day." The event teaches hundreds of students how the court system works.
Pleasant Valley Fifth Grader Alan Chong said he learned, " You really need to get good evidence to get people to believe what you are saying."
Attorney and Volunteer Catwoman Actress Alison Wasserman said, "If you just lecture them and give them an instructional video it's not really gonna stick but if you bring in something that's fun and that they understand - for instance batman - it really teaches them how it works."
Volunteers from the Monroe County BarAssociation have been holdingfairy tale trials for about 15 years. | | |
