BEAR CREEK TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- There is a controversy brewing in Bear Creek Township. It deals with its ambulance service.
Volunteers who run the Bear Creek/Buck Township Ambulance Service say they are being forced out of operation. They say there is an effort underway by the Lion’s Club, which owns the ambulance, to work a deal with three other ambulance services to cover the Bear Creek area.
Eyewitness News spoke to Chris McGowan, the Assistant Chief of the ambulance company. "I think it’s more or less a communication problem between two organizations they have been cooperating. We've been trying to get answers back to us."
Eyewitness News also spoke to the president of the Lion’s Club, who says they have nothing to hide. They are trying to find the best service for the residents and he says they have no plans on eliminating the Bear Creek/Buck Township Ambulance Company. | |
