WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY - Students and staff at a Luzerne County beauty school are joining forces to help a devastated country.
They're donating all of the money taken in, Thursday, to go toward the Haiti relief effort.

It's called "Haircuts For Haiti" and it's happening at Jolie Hair and Beauty Academy at 125 Wilkes-Barre Boulevard.
Students are busy learning a trade - but that's not all.
On this day, they're also helping earthquake stricken haiti by donating all of the proceeds.
Paying customers can enjoy a full list of discounted services.

"They'll be able to have haircuts done. If they would like a skin care treatment, some color, their nails done... anything that makes them feel good about themselves we'll be able to provide for them," said Nicole Pantucci who's the Admissions Director at Jolie Hair And Beauty Academy.

"Haircuts For Haiti" benefits Doctors Without Borders.
The nearly 40-year-old international humanitarian aid organization is treating Haiti earthquake victims and could use more resources.
"So we figured that would be a great way to help in the effort to send more doctors and more nurses and more staff over to be able to help the people of Haiti," said Pantucci.

75-Students in training are doing all the work at this fundraiser -- giving their time and talents to the cause.
"It's awesome. You actually see people that are taking time away from their children," said student Rianne Vitek of Shavertown. "They're taking just their day in general to come out here and do whatever they can to help somebody else out who's in, unfortunately, a bad situation."

This Jolie Hair And Beauty Academy location is one of three taking part in "Haircuts for Haiti". At the corporate level, they'll match up to 10-thousand dollars of all the donations taken in today.
It's money these students know comes from a skill their sharpening in a trade that's all about making a positive difference in such a personal way.
"This is something I've always wanted to be able to do with my life is help people look better and feel better about themselves," said student Robin Sink Red Rock. "And to be able to do that while helping... it's great."

Besides the Wilkes-Barre Boulevard location, Jolie Hair And Beauty Academy has another location in Pennsyvania at 1057 North Church Street, Hazleton.
Both academy sites are participating in the day-long fundraiser until 7:00 p. m.
