The twenty-fifth annual Bernie's Memorial Run took over the streets of Wilkes-Barre this morning. All proceeds from the three mile run are used for children's programs at the Wilkes-Barre YMCA. It's the YMCA's biggest fund-raiser. The race was originally called the Firecracker Run when it began in 1984. It was renamed the Bernie's Memorial Run in 1994 after its organizer, Bernie Hargadon, passed away. Our own Mike Trim and photographer Luke Johnson also ran in today's race.
