BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY -- Jason Hosler of Berwick was in court here today. He's accused of raping a 10-year-old girl back in 2005. The now 14-year-old victim came forward to police this summer.

Hosler is now 25 years old and was 21 at the time of the alleged incident. Hosler is charged with raping a child, aggravated indecent assault, and statuatory sexual assault.

Lead Detective Ken Strish says Hosler admitted to the incident in a written statement. Strish also adds the statute of limitations to press charges has changed.

"It used to be that you had 12 years [to come forward] with many of your sexual offenses," said Det. Strish. "Just recently, that has actually changed to where now you have until the victim turns 50."

Hosler is behind bars at the Columbia County Prison.
