HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- A bicyclist is in critical condition after hitting a van head on.

It happened around 9:00 Friday evening at Locust and Fourth Streets in Hazleton.

Witnesses say the bike rider may have been trying to pass a pick up truck when he crashed into the van. The van was traveling in the opposite direction.

Police are investigating.
