NEW MILFORD, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY- People in part of Susquehanna County have reason to celebrate. Their town is celebrating a big birthday!
Eyewitness News stopped by Midtown Park in New Milford Friday morning. Crews spent the day getting ready for the town's 150th anniversary celebration this weekend.
A parade, singing contest and classic car show are planned. Organizers have teamed-up with New Milford Township, which is celebrating its 200th birthday at this weekend's celebration.
Centennial Committee Chairman Ken Bondurant said, ŇThe borough and township did this in 1959. This is 50 years later and we're doing many of the same things so itŐs a small community and a small township coming together."
All of the events are free and open to the public. | | |
