It's the traditional kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
Black Friday is coming to a close, and some of you have been shopping til you drop.
We caught up with shoppers milking every last minute out of one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
At Laurel Mall, people had all kinds of reasons for saving their shopping for the end of black Friday.
Patrick Kochanowski of Pittsburgh says, "part of it was i had to burn off what i ate yesterday so i spent the early part of the day working out!"
Scott Hueston of Pottsville says, "well we don't rush anymore. We're too old for that stuff!"
But many good deals were too good to pass up on this, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Jeanine Mazurkiwecz of Sugar Loaf sat out a moment with her daughter after a long day of shopping.
“I was up at four. We were here from five til one, took a break, now we're back to see santa, but he's taking a short break," says Mazurkiwecz.
It was a long day for retailers at the mall too.
David Basaola says, "the last few hours, well it's a friday so the mall, there's a lot of kids, but there's still a lot of shopers. A lot of deals that must be still out there."
Big bags could be seen in shoppers hands until the mall closed up.
Some waited til the last minute to get that last good buy in.
John Keener of Hazleton says, "i normally don't like crowds but i waited til after work to come out to see what i could find. "
And while the crowds were far less than what they were at the start of black Friday, some thought.
Jim Pogera of Hazleton says,
"i think it's still packed. It's going strong all day and i think it's going to last all weekend."
But for now, the busy shopping day has come to an end | |
