BLAKELY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - Firefighters in Lackawanna County were on the move Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't because of an emergency.

Blakely Hose Company #2 held a parade to celebrate 100 years of service. Volunteers marched down the streets of the borough, while people in the community looked on. The fire company started back in 1908 with just a small group of volunteers.

"It's something that we've been looking forward to and we're thrilled to see the turnout," fire chief Tim Fanning said.

"Firefighting in general is a brotherhood, so anyone who wants to share with us, we're glad to have them," fire captain Chris Melodia said.

After the parade, the fire company also held an open house to celebrate the big milestone.
