SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY
The process of cooking 125 turkeys got under way Tuesday as Scranton businessman Bob Bolus gets ready for his 14th annual Family Christmas dinner.
Bolus and a team of volunteers hosts a free Christmas dinner at Saint Lucy's Church in West Scranton each year. The meal is open to anyone who wants to join others in celebrating Christmas. It's set in a decorated hall at the church.
Bolus also provides meals to be delivered to those who can't get to the church.
Last year some 2,000 people took advantage of the Christmas dinner. Bolus also provided nearly 450 meals to those who could not attend.
Bolus says he started the annual Christmas dinner as a way to 'give back to the community. | | |
