SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- A day of bowling fun in Scranton helped raise money for an organization that helps children in need.

Dozens and dozens of bowlers filled South Side Bowl Saturday afternoon for the 8th Annual Toby Joyce Memorial Bowling Tournament.

A local electricians union organizes the event to benefit Friendship House which helps children with emotional, behavioral or mental health issues.

About 130 bowlers participated in the fundraiser that Friendship House counts on.

Friendship House President Bob Angeloni said, "We do budget for this event and this year we exceeded what we thought we would bring in in terms of the number of bowlers."

IBEW Local #81 Treasurer Gino Arcurie added, "Any proceeds we get once we pay the bowling, once we pay the food, once we pay for trophies all goes towards Friendship House. We keep nothing."

And a reminder, WBRE will host the 2nd Annual Friendship House Autism Telethon on April 10th.
