SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - A major artery in downtown Scranton will be closed to traffic beginning Monday morning. They means big headaches for drivers.

PennDOT plans to shut down the Lackawanna Avenue bridge to all cars, trucks and even pedestrians. It's part of a $5.2 million project to fix the aging bridge.

The Lackawanna Avenue bridge is the main way to get from downtown Scranton to West Side. More than 10,000 vehicles use the bridge everyday.

The bridge will be closed for up to 18 months in Lackawanna County.
