POCONO TWP., MONROE COUNTY- A brush fire threatened two Pocono homes Tuesday afternoon.
Four fire companies responded to the fire along Sebring Drive in Pocono Township around 3:30 P. M. Flames broke out tearing brush, multiple garages and a chicken coup. No chickens were inside the coup and no one was hurt.
Though firefighters aren't sure what started the flames, they say a power line was down, but they don't know if it played a part in the fire.
They say so far they've been lucky this brush fire season, but it could get worse.
Pocono Township Fire Chief Mike Shay said, "We had a couple small ones, we've gotten lucky. But I think that's going to change if we don't get any rain here soon. I mean substantial, long period of rain."
The state Bureau of Forestry along with state police will investigate.
