A Bucknell University professor is sentenced to death in his native Ethiopia.
Berhanu Nega is accused of being part of a terrorist group.
Nega claims he's being persecuted for fighting for democracy.
He was elected mayor of the capital city of Addis Ababa in 2005.
Instead of serving as mayor, the Ethiopian government threw him into prison.
He was pardoned in 2007 and returned to Bucknell University.
His death sentence was handed down in December in his absence.
Nega joined the morning show from his Lewisburg home via the phone. | |
