Lewisburg, Union County-
Last month, we introduced you to the first Bucknell University student ever to win a seat on Lewisburg borough council.
Now that student, Tim Hoffman, has announced he is resigning, weeks before what would have been his first day in office.
We’re told the man Hoffman beat, as well as a handful of other residents, filed a challenge based on residency restrictions.
Hoffman, a senior at Bucknell, travels home to Denver, Colorado, on summer breaks, and spent a semester abroad last year.
Regardless, he believes his campaign proved successful in terms of raising political interest and awareness locally.
Hoffman explained, “There are a lot of people in this town who feel like their issues are going un-addressed and they were willing to stand up on November 3rd and raise their voices and let people know that.”
Tim Hoffman says he would consider running for elected office again if the right opportunity presents itself. | |
