WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Some super sized food being served up at the Chicken Coop in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday night.
The Bucknell University Cross Country and Track teams raced up to our area for their annual eating pilgrimage.
The team members enjoy wings. and "pig burgers".. a pound of meat.. on a half loaf of bread with lettuce, tomato and mayo.
David Mante of Bucknell Track and Field Team
tells us "Its a longest tradition we have we have and we are not quite sure went it started but for as long as we remember its been going on"
Mike Gibney of Bucknell Track and Field Team enjoys the team spirit and is ready for the new season.
" We always have a great time out here eating alot of burgers and we are ready to start a great track season... We are getting ready to race."
The team told us they also have some eating records to break. and that some of their dads were members of the team and took part in this eating frenzy.
But most of all.. the team says this event brings them together. | |
