WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Pennsylvania still doesn't have a state budget. That means some people will be left out in the cold.
That's because some social service agencies won't get the money they need. That includes "VISION," who helps the homeless.
The organization put cots on the lawn outside their shelter. They're sleeping outside to illustrate what will happen if a budget isn't passed soon.
Director Vince Kabacinski says, ÒWe worked very hard over last 20 years in putting programs together to give homeless a chance to become self-sufficient. Now we are on the verge of tearing the safety net apart."
Churches in Luzerne County have also been asked to ring their bells at 11pm in support. | |
