OLD FORGE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- 77-year-old Sam Agostini remembers getting jumped on the way to his business, Agostini Bakery. He's now offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of his attacker.
"It could help, it could really help," said Agostini. "Somebody might need $1,000 just to turn somebody in, which I hope they do."
He was leaving his house around 4am on November 27th, when somebody hit him with a pipe or flashlight several times. The attacker also grabbed Agostini's bank bag with $5,000 cash inside. He believes the robber is a former employee.
"They knew what time I left in the morning and what time I got here at the bakery," he said.
In the 53 years he's run the Agostini Bakery, not much has changed, except his routine.
"Every time I go back near that door, I hesitate, but I don't go out the door anymore," said Agostini. "I go through the garage, jump in my Jeep, and drive out."
While the person stole money from Agostini, they couldn't take away his love for the family business.
"I still love my job, and I still got my health, almost, and we'll go from there," he said.
Anyone with information on his attacker is asked to call Old Forge police. | |
