BUTLER TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- A Butler Township Supervisor says he has had a change of heart. Saturday he promised no pink slip for his town's police department.

Butler Township Supervisor Ransom Young says he made a mistake. Last Wednesday Young suggested taking the police department from full to part time.

The move was to balance the budget and repair roads. Today, he said he was wrong. “We are not as financially distressed as we thought we were so at a waste water meeting I'll make a motion to rescind the motion for full to part time,” he told Eyewitness News.

Butler Township Police will continue to provide 24-hour a day service to the 36-square mile area in southern Luzerne County.
