WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY - A traffic accident leads police to a vehicle filled with items that could be used in a methamphetamine lab.

Police arrested Kevin Schmidt Junior of Hanover Township.

Police say he told them he was picking up the items for someone else.

It all started when police were called to investigate the crash of three vehicles on Route 309 in Wright Township.

Police saw what they believed were items used in a meth lab inside a white jeep.

A special state police crime lab team searched the car.

Wright Township Police Chief Joe Jacob said, "I won't say it was a mobile lab but he had items to set up a lab. No chemicals were mixed but everything to make meth was present in the vehicle."

Schmidt is behind bars.

He'll have a hearing on July 22nd.
