Lewisburg, Union County-

Susquehanna Valley Law Enforcement’s Camp Cadet is getting a big boost from a local restaurant Wednesday night.

Applebee’s Grill and Bar in Lewisburg is hosting the 4th Annual Celebrity Service Night to benefit Camp Cadet.

All tips collected will go toward food, lodging, and uniforms for campers.

The week-long camp teaches structure, teamwork, discipline and self-esteem to children ages 12-15.

State Police Trooper Matthew Burrows noted, “The saying is you can do whatever you want to do. But the truth is, once they graduate (from Camp Cadet), I think they believe that they can do what they want to do.”

The free camp hosts about 60 kids each year. It’s funded strictly through community donations.

Wednesday night’s Celebrity Service event runs from 5-9 at Applebee’s in Lewisburg.
