KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY- A "Change of Command" ceremony took place at the Kingston Armory.
It was the end of one captains' journey and the beginning of another's.
Former Captain Dahlan Mahyudin passed the Guidon on to Captain Robert l. Perino.
The Guidon, which is a flag, serves as a symbol of inspiration for the future.
Guardsmen say the solider who holds the flag has the responsiblity to lead the way.
Captain Robert L. Perino, New Comander of the Company G 228TH Brigade told Eyewitness News "It's a huge moment that most officers look forward to- taking command of an outstanding group such as this"
Dahlan Mahyudin Jr., Former Captain of the 228TH Brigrade told us
"First of all he's a very good officer and we did everything to set him up for success. He's going to do just fine. I told him your in good hands."
About 75 soldiers and family members were at the ceremony to show their support. | | |
