WIND GAP, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY -- Eyewitness News is following breaking news this Saturday in Northampton County, near the Monroe County Line.

People who live within a one-mile radius of Wind Gap and Route 33 are being asked to leave their homes this morning. Authorities tell Eyewitness News a tractor trailer carrying hydrochloric acid overturned, spilling the chemical. Route 33 in that area is closed.

A shelter has been set up at Pen Argyl High School for those being evacuated, and authorities are asking them to plan to be away from their homes for at least 12 to 24 hours.

We'll bring you the latest on the chemical spill as it becomes available.
