CHERRY VALLEY, MONROE COUNTY- A pristine part of the Poconos will remain that way, thanks to its designation as a National Wildlife Refuge.

Cherry Valley in Monroe County is now Pennslyvania's third Wildlife Refuge. Some 20,000 acres in the valley, located near Stroudsburg, will be protected from commercial development.

The U. S. Fish and Game Commission conducted environmental studies in that area, and decided the land and its wildlife should be protected.
