Sunbury, Northumberland County-
The first-ever female chief clerk of Northumberland County has decided to step down from her post.
Rose Marquardt has served as chief clerk for the past two years. She describes herself as a do-it-all go-between for the county commissioners and department heads.
Marquardt has decades of past experience in state government.
And she’s also a pastor, who says she needs to devote more time to her ministry.
Marquardt said, “I just stepped back and looked at my priorities. My congregations are growing, and I need to get back to the business of serving the Lord.”
Marquardt would also like to open a center in Mount Carmel to help less fortunate people get connected with social service agencies.
The Northumberland County commissioners will appoint a new chief clerk after Marquardt’s last day on January 29th. | |
