((MONROE COUNTY) - State Police in Monroe County are calling a Christmas Day shooting an attempted homicide. It all started, rather ended with a car crash in Chestnut Hill Township. A reported missing 22-year-old man from Effort received non life threatening gun shot wounds to the arm, leg and foot. State Police say they're investigating a one car crash, where they soon discovered the victim had also been shot multiple times. There are a lot of unanswered questions in a Christmas Day car crash at the intersection of State and Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnut hill Township. Cpl. Kevin Flannery said, "We didn't get a lot of information from him, he was conscious, but not making a lot of sense." Emergency responders found 22-year-old Edvin Villegas of Effort behind the wheel of this Toyota Camry. Police say his mother reported him missing the night before when he apparently went out and never came home. Cpl. Flannery added, "They saw the car and it matched the description of the missing person investigation from earlier." State Police believe Villegas lost control of his car and crashed into a tree. That's where four paramedics later pulled him to safety. Cpl. Flannery added, "They finally got the person out of the car and saw a lot of blood in the clothing but no apparent injuries from the crash." Emergency crews discovered at least three gunshot wounds to the victim's arm, calf and foot. Cpl. Flannery added, "As I understand, no life threatening injuries. At this time we're sending investigators to get more information from him as to exactly what happened and how everything transpired we don't know how long off road or in the woods." But, there are still lots of unanswered questions. Flannery stated, "No gun in the car, no bullet holes. I don't know whether he was coming back in the morning whether it happened last night and there all night, I don't have information yet
